Program Highlights

  • Worked with community groups to improve healthy, local food access in food deserts by facilitating sessions to help groups define their values and write mission and vision statements reflecting their values, develop strategic plans,  and use tools and data to develop to advocacy campaigns.
  • Helping to build up the SC mental health crisis system and 988, including identifying gaps in care, partnership building, insuring care quality, and establishing data infrastructure.
  • Worked with partners to engage local communities in trauma-informed suicide prevention strategies in 10 high-need counties in SC. This included hosting community listening sessions and focus groups, developing trainings, learning collaboratives, and tools, and implementing campaigns to bust stigma and spread hope.
  • Assisted in implementing Zero Suicide into the largest mental healthcare system in the country. Zero Suicide is a transformational, evidence-based suicide prevention framework for healthcare and other settings that is quickly becoming the gold standard.
  • Working with the first statewide Department of Corrections in the country to implement Zero Suicide. Zero Suicide has primarily been used in healthcare settings, so we are also providing guidance to tailor the Zero Suicide framework for justice-involved settings.
