About Us

Dr. Casey Childers

In my career as a public health researcher, I have 13 years of experience on 18 research and evaluation projects, with roughly $16 million awarded to the grant writing teams I’ve served on. I care deeply about improving people’s lives through my work. I’ve worked on health issues such as mental health and substance abuse, cardiovascular health, colorectal cancer, and healthy, local food access. I have a PhD in Health Promotion, Education and Behavior from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s Degree in Communications, with an emphasis in Health Communication from the University of Georgia. I grew up in Hickory, NC and now live in Blythewood, SC, outside of Columbia. I enjoy spending time with my husband and 6-year-old son, gardening, and working with local animal organizations by rescuing and fostering cats and dogs.
